TRUST

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust. It can be so hard to trust in God when He seems far away, or when it seems like His plan isn't working. We tend to want to take control instead of surrendering our fears and worries (and lives!) to Christ! But we can find SO much freedom in giving God control and trusting Him! And we know we can trust in God even when it seems like He isn't there.

Here are some reasons we can trust God and some blessings that come from trusting in Him:

  •  Abraham trusted God (though he had times were he failed to trust) even though it seemed God wouldn't keep His promise. God had promised Abraham many descendants, but it wasn't until 25 years after this promise that God gave Abraham a son. And even then, Abraham had only 1 son to fulfill God's promise of MANY descendants. But we know that all the nation of Israel came from him, and God was faithful to fulfill ALL of His promises to them! So even when it's hard or you can't see what God is doing, trust in God!
  • Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God! They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright. ~ Psalm 20:7-8 Our trust in God is solid and firm! If we put our trust in people, money, wealth, school, our career, the weather, romance, accomplishments, or health we will continually be disappointed. But, if we put our trust in God, we will "rise and stand upright!"
  • Trust in God brings peace. And when you have true peace in Christ, you have nothing to fear! That's something we can learn from Moses. Not to doubt or fear God's promises and words, but to trust and obey! Isaiah 26:3 You keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. When our minds are focused on God and our hearts trust in Him, we have perfect peace!
