Whatever you do...

In Ecclesiastes 9 it says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might." Whatever work we are doing we need to give it our all and do our best. It also says in Colossians chapter 3, "Whatever we are doing we should do as if for the Lord and not for man."
So when we are doing school, or when we are at work if we have a job, or when we are at home cleaning, or when we are babysitting, or when we are serving others, or whatever it is we are working on and doing, we need to give it all our might! We need to put our whole selves into it and do it as if Jesus Himself asked us to do it! We need to work joyfully and thoroughly. We must not just put a little bit of our effort into a job. We need to give a job all of our effort! We need to give school work all of our effort! We need to give loving others all of our effort! We need to give all our effort into work, school, serving others, loving others, and in our relationship with the Lord! If God gives us a job to do or something to work on; if God calls us to do something; we need to put all our might into doing it!! We need to be willing to work (Proverbs 31:13 & 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12). And when we do work we need to have a good attitude. After all, the Bible tells us to work as if for the Lord. If Jesus told you to do something, would you grumble and complain; would you only do the job half way; would you not do your best; would you get distracted half way through and never finish the job. No! You probably would cheerfully serve your Savior and do the best you possibly could at the job. And you probably would feel honored to serve the Creator of the universe! If that's how you would do a job if Jesus asked you, than that is how you should do any job. Because God is always watching. So doing a job thoroughly and cheerfully is a way we can honor and obey our Savior. So I encourage you: Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might!
