Migraines

I get migraines. It's no fun. Thankfully I don't get them as bad as I use too. I use to throw up and the migraine would stay for a few days. Now I still get nausea sometimes but thankfully I don't throw up anymore. I can only pray that the changes over time will be me outgrowing the migraines and that as I get older I won't get them anymore. But I take comfort in this verse: Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall their be morning, nor crying, NOR PAIN ANYMORE, for the former things have passed away.
I know that one day I will be in heaven and I won't have anymore pain!
I also know that others suffer so much more than me, so I'm VERY thankful that I get migraines and that I don't have anything more serious.
I also have heard and believe that through our suffering, whether it's migraines, cancer, or a cold, we can be refined. God can use our weakness to show His strength (2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, "My grace is sufficent for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.) And God can use hard times and moments to grow us. Romans 5:3-8 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person- though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die- but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us and eternal weight of glory beyond all comparision, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. (God can use anything for His purpose!)

No matter what you're struggling with, these verses can be a comfort! One day, if you are a believer and follower of Christ, you will not experiance any pain or sorrow. And all the suffering we experiance now produces endurance, and character, and hope. And it works out according to God's plan and will. And it is only a light momentary affliction. It will only last a short while and then we will be in out eternal state. That's why it's so important to know what you believe. Life is short and eternity is forever!

For anyone else who gets migraines:
It can be hard to find relief from the pain, and I know it sucks when migraines ruin your plans (like movie nights and going out to eat, ect.) but here are a few things that have help me:
1. Peppermint essential oil. It helps give me a cool relaxing feeling and relives the pain for 15-30 minutes. And then when it wears off I can put more on.

2. Corn bag. I got a corn bag once and I keep it as an ice pack in the freezer. When I have a migraine, sometimes I just put that on my forehead or neck and it usually helps.

3. Caffeine. If I have a migraine when we are at a resteraunt, or even sometimes at home, I'll drink a coke and once the caffeine settles in my migraine and nausea normally goes away!

4. Sleep. If I have a bad migraine with nausea and it won't go away, I just have to try to live with it or go take a napp. Usually I need to sleep at least 2ish hours. But sleep really does help!

If anyone reading this also struggles with migraines or knows any thing that is suppose to help really well, I'd love to hear your opinion!
